A diner has accused a restaurant of calling her a 'pain in the a**' on her bill.

Anna Warrender and two friends were splashing out at Brewhemia, Edinburgh, but claim they had to wait 45 minutes for food and were allowed only 15 minutes for dessert, the Daily Mailreported.

After they complained, staff reportedly offered diners a £23 bottle of Prosecco in compensation - but then seemed to ruin that peace offering by allegedly writing "pain in the a** wom[an]" on the receipt.

Warrender and her friend Kate McMillan accused the restaurant in a Facebook post, writing:

Absolutely disgusted by the service experienced today in @brewhemiaedin.

Food took 45 minutes and then we were told we only had 15 minutes left despite being given dessert menus.

Then to top it off this was our receipt.
