It’s not just George Orwell’s 1984 that’s been flying off the shelves since Donald Trump became president.
The confused have been turning to other books as well in an attempt to make some sense of what’s going on.
Pamela Paul, editor of the New York Times Book Review, tweeted a list of all the books that have seen a boost in sales.
And in case you wanted to join in, here they are:
1. It can’t happen here, by Sinclair Lewis
A whopping 12,346 per cent increase in sales in the first four weeks of 17 compared to the same period in 2016.
2. The origins of totalitarianism, by Hannah Arendt
A 1,058 per cent increase.
3. March: Book 1, by John Lewis
A 427 per cent increase.
4. Trump, the art of the deal, by Donald Trump and Tony Schwartz
A 325 per cent increase.
5. 1984, George Orwell
A 185 per cent increase.
6. We should all be feminists, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
A 133 per cent increase.
7. The constitution of the United States
A 78 per cent increase.
8. Brave new world, by Aldous Huxley
An 43 per cent increase.
9. Animal Farm, by George Orwell
A 36 per cent increase
10. Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury
A nine per cent increase.
