A letter allegedly written by Donald Trump’s secretary in 1992 has been unearthed by New York Magazine - and people think it's decidedly fishy.
The letter, signed Carolin Gallego, reads:
Based on the fact that I work for Donald Trump as his secretary—and therefore know him well—I think he treats women with great respect, contrary to what Julie Baumgold implied in her article … I do not believe any man in America gets more calls from women wanting to see him, meet him, or go out with him. The most beautiful women, the most successful women—all women love Donald Trump.
Many people believe it sounds a lot like Donald Trump himself.
Mashable searched Trump’s Twitter and found he’d used the phrase “great respect” five times, and has tweeted “beautiful” 158 times.
In addition, Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen told Washingtonian he doesn’t recognise the name Carolin Gallego.
It wouldn’t be the first time Trump allegedly impersonated someone. The Washington Post reports that the then businessman used to call publications claiming to be a publicist named John, who proceeded to give quotes on Trump. Trump also reportedly admitted to this in court, under oath.
It goes without saying that people are mighty suspicious.
