It emerged this week that despite the Republicans having a majority in both Houses of Congress, Donald Trump would not have the votes to pass his new healthcare plan.
The American Care Act, commonly known as Trumpcare, was aimed at repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), but a decision to pull the bill was handed down before a vote could even take place.
Many view it as a major setback for Trump as repealing and replacing the healthcare act was a one of his cornerstone pledges during the campaign.
Twitter wildly celebrated the embarrassing set back, but it was perhaps the New York Times who had the last laugh with the following headline:
Republicans land a punch on health care, to their own face.
