Georgia: How the internet reacted to the run-off election results | indy100

Democrats look to have secured a historic victory in the Georgia run-off elections as the Republican candidates failed to make a significant impact at the polls in the state.

Reverend Raphael Warnock is projected to win his race against Kelly Loeffler, with many US news networks and the Associated Press calling it in his favour.

In the other race, at the time of writing, Jon Ossoff is reportedly leading the vote over David Perdue. Should Ossoff win then control of the senate will transfer to the Democrats for the first time since 2015.

Should this happen it just another blemish on Trump’s legacy as president as the Republican vote appears to have continued to crumble following his loss at the 2020 presidentical election to Joe Biden.

With all this in mind, there has been a fair bit of schadenfreude aimed at Trump and other prominent Republicans like Mitch McConnell following the results as people often love nothing better that trolling the POTUS and the GOP.
