Neighbours sickened by woman who decorated her home as a concentration camp for Halloween

A home in New Port Richey, Florida has shocked an entire neighbourhood after it was decorated to resemble a concentration camp for Halloween.

Skeletons making Nazi salutes, with concentration camp numbers written on them and also wearing the Star of David adorned the property located near Decubelis and Ridge Road.

Amongst the controversial decorations was a sign reading 'Arbeit Macht Frei,' which are the words above the gates at the former Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau which was set in occupied Poland.

Mitchell Katz, a local resident in the area told WLFA:

It sickens me. I'm Jewish, this says she [the home owner] hates Jews and we should die.

His wife Bonnie added:

It sickens me that we can have this, you know, with what happened in Pittsburgh.

Although it's not clear why she chose this type of decorations, the homeowner, identified as Susan Lamerton, said she put them up in protest with the Homeowner association.

Lamerton claims that she has been in a dispute with the HOA for months over a landscaping issue. When WFLA asked her about the decorations she said:

[Because] they're trying to take my house. Don't you understand?

I have freedom of speech, they have freedom of speech. They need to leave my property.

She also claimed that she is Jewish and this is her way of protesting the issue.

The police have reportedly been contacted about the issue but stated that what Lamerton is doing is perfectly legal and is considered protected speech.
