41 of the best reactions and memes to the big Harry and Meghan interview

The most talked about and anticipated television event of the year aired on Sunday evening in the United States as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were interviewed about their rift with the Royal Family by Oprah Winfrey.

The interview which aired in the US on CBS and is due to be shown on ITV on Monday evening, saw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reveal some of the details on their disintegrating relationship with the rest of the Royals, which contained several eye-opening bombshells.

Key moments saw Meghan reveal that she had suffered from suicidal thoughts and that Buckingham Palace had not done anything to help when asked and that there had been concerned conversations of the skin colour of their child Archie, whilst Markle was still pregnant and that because he wasn’t a prince he wouldn’t receive any security protection.

Harry also added that he felt let down by his father Prince Charles, who for a while wouldn’t take his calls and that time will heal his relationship with his brother William. Markle in contrast did clear up some of the rumours regarding her relationship with the Royals who she said had been very welcoming and that the Queen was wonderful. They also revealed that their next child will be a girl.

For those that have been fortunate to watch the interview already, it was hardly the easiest spectacle to behold and got people reflecting on the history of the couple and their family and some of the feelings were mutual.

Not everyone had sympathy though, namely Piers Morgan, a staunch critic of the couple who said that he was “sickened” by what he had to watch. It would appear that some others agree.

Much of the reaction was in pure shock at some of the revelations, especially the details over security, Markle’s mental health struggles and Archie’s skin colour.

Elsewhere, many were obsessed with Oprah Winfrey, who remains the undisputed queen of interviews.

There was plenty of love for the actor and director Tyler Perry also, who had reportedly offered his security team to the couple after they had been stripped of theirs.

There is also this tribute from fans that parodies Avengers: Endgame.

Of course, there were plenty of jokes and memes and expect to see many more in the days to come.

At least we know there are some members of the Royal Family that we cannot blame.
