You know what's more heinous than using the words 'Speaking as a Mother'?

It's couching your horror at sexual harassment in this language:

As the father of [X amount of] daughters, I'm appalled...

Stop it.

This is the argument many are making online, about the male celebrities who, while condemning Harvey Weinstein's alleged actions, are also cloaking themselves in the gender of their children.

Matt Damon, in particular, is being dragged after he used that form of words in his Deadline interview about Weinstein.

In his interview with Deadline, Damon stated that he did not abide sexual assault before he was famous.

Look, even before I was famous, I didn’t abide this kind of behaviour.

But now, as the father of four daughters, this is the kind of sexual predation that keeps me up at night.

This is the great fear for all of us. You have a daughter, you know…

Critics of Damon's words took to Twitter:

The 'father of daughters' reaction is officially done
