Since losing to Donald Trump in 2016, Hillary Clinton has not shied away from criticising the president on a variety of issues.

Now Clinton has taken to Twitter to mock a letter that Trump sent to Turkish president Erdogan. Trump’s 16 October letter to the Turkish premier – which called on Erdogan not to “be a tough guy” or a “fool” – was seen as so strange that the White House was forced to confirm its legitimacy after US outlets presumed the letter was a hoax.

Now the letter is being mocked by Clinton, who shared a parody letter purported to be from former President John F Kennedy to Russia’s Nikita Krushchev in relation to the Cuban missile crisis.

It reads:

Don’t be a dick, ok?

Get your missiles out of Cuba.

Everybody will say ‘Yay Krushchev! You’re the best!’ But if you don’t everybody will be like ‘what an asshole’ and call your garbage country ‘The Soviet Bunion’.

The tweet is one of many Clinton interventions over the last few weeks. She’s also sparred with Democratic presidential nominee Tulsi Gabbard.

People on Twitter couldn’t believe Clinton’s shade.
