Important: there was a heron in Downing Street

This heron paid a flying visit to Downing Street on Thursday, with a picture being tweeted by adviser Ramsay Jones.

The excitement was short-lived with the heron quickly departing but Jones said it "had a stroll around first".

It would have had to stay for a long time to get a glimpse of David Cameron, with the prime minister currently away on a tour of EU capitals.
