The Hague is a city on the western coast of the Netherlands, which is best known for housing the International Criminal Court, where individuals deemed to have committed genocide, war crimes or aggression against humanity are trialled.

Although it is steeped in importance, it's not somewhere that you would want to brag about visiting - especially if you are a member of a contentious family, whose patriarch has routinely flirted with the idea of starting conflicts with nations like North Korea and Iran.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what Ivanka Trump did today when she tweeted that she was 'En route to the Hague' for the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which just so happens to be taking place in the Dutch city.

Unfortunately for Ivanka, the bluntness of her tweet and the lack of information behind it resulted in everyone making a lot of jokes and assumptions.

Or maybe it was a tweet from the future?

Although it is unlikely that any of the Trump family will ever find themselves in that type of situation at The Hague, we can safely say that when it comes to Twitter the 'apple doesn't fall from the tree'.
