In an interview on CNN, president Trump’s daughter-in-law was called out for mocking Joe Biden’s stutter.

At a Women for Trump rally in Iowa, Lara Trump made fun of Biden's speech impediment.

Trump, who is also a senior adviser to the president, said: “I feel kind of sad for Biden... I'm supposed to want him to fail at every turn, but every time they turn to him I'm like, 'Joe, can you get it out? Let's get the words out, Joe.’”

Referring to this comment, Jake Tapper asked: “How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that?”

Trump replied: “First and foremost, I had no idea that Joe Biden ever suffered from a stutter. I think what we see on Joe Biden on stage is very clearly a cognitive decline.”

Tapper was not having any of it.

He said:

I think that you were mocking his stutter and I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline.

Soon after, he ended the interview early. He finished by sarcastically noting: “I’m sure it was from a place of concern, we all believe that.”

People criticised Trump for her comment.
