This clip of Liz Truss trying to explain how a no-deal will work is excruciating

As we inch closer and closer to October 31st, the possibility of a no deal Brexit becomes more and more likely.

But what does that mean? What will it entail? What consequences will it have?

Ordinary people have no way of knowing for sure right now, and well, it seems like the politicians don't either.

Speaking to Emma Barnett on BBC Radio 5, International Trade Secretary Liz Truss revealed that she doesn't actually know how we will achieve a no-deal Brexit, either.

The clip is excruciating – as Barnett asks, "do you know how we'll do it?", Truss fumbles and says that it's "ultimately the responsibility of the prime minister".

Barnett pushes, asking repeatedly how we will leave on the 31st. "We'll leave without a deal," Truss repeats, and Barnett reminds her again that that's illegal.

Truss refuses to guess or speculate, revealing that she has absolutely no idea what's going to happen next.

BBC 5 Live have since shared the moment which has already been viewed more than 300,000 times on Twitter and people are exasperated at what they had just seen.

Let's just hope someone has some idea...
