Politics can be divisive, especially in 2018. But every so often, something toe-curlingly awkward, yet strangely heartwarming, happens to distract us from how awful everything is.

Former Labour shadow chancellor Ed Balls and Tory environment secretary Michael Gove have bridged the political divide and are now dancing – quite literally – to the same tune.

The political figures, from opposing sides of the spectrum and Brexit debate, danced together in a bizarre clip that is being circulated on Twitter.

Giving it their all, the pair spun their hands around, imitating the gesture made famous by South Korean pop sensation PSY in the song 'Gangnam Style'. The video was originally shared by journalist Sam Coates on Twitter and has been liked almost 4,000 times.

Balls infamously starred on Strictly Come Dancing. But despite his professional training, Twitter wasn’t exactly complimentary of the pair’s moves.
