Michael Moore's top wish for 2019 is 'to see as many Trumps in jail as possible'

Documentary maker and left-wing commentator Michael Moore has revealed that his wish for 2019 is to see the entire Trump family wearing nice orange jumpsuits and locked up in jail.

Moore, who is most famous for his films on globalisation and capitalism, appeared on MSNBC's 'All In with Chris Hayes' on Friday night, and was asked by Hayes what he's most looking forward to in 2019.

In response, he said:

As many members of the Trump family in orange jumpsuits as possible.

When challenged by Hayes, who says the comment seems mean spirited, Moore responded:

It's really the wrong way to end such a festive time of the year with such animosity toward those who would do wrong to this country, but yes.

The two then went on to speculate who might be next on the list for indictment, and suggest that perhaps Donald Trump Jr and son-in-law Jared Kushner could be the next targets.

As for the president, however, Moore doesn't feel that his new year's wish will come to fruition. Speaking to Hayes, he said:

Here’s probably what won't happen, especially New Yorkers know this because Trump got away with everything for like 40 years, that streak shouldn't end this year, more than likely, because I think Trump has always been careful to not be in the room when the crime is being committed.

I think he’s very canny.

He added:

If something’s going to happen in a room with Russians or others that could find him indicted, I think more than likely — because remember he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs, he is of his own faculties — he made sure that he was not in the room.

Trump, however, has been accused of federal crimes. Prosecutors have concluded that Trump directed Michael Cohen, his disgraced former lawyer, to break campaign finance laws and pay off two women to silence their claims of affairs with the president shortly before the 2016 election.

Moore is a vocal critic of the Trump administration, with his latest film Fahrenheit 11/9 shining a spotlight on the 2016 presidential election, and the subsequent presidency of Trump.
