As Beto O’Rourke narrowly lost to the incumbent Ted Cruz in the race for the Senate seat in Texas, a “kid reporter” explained why he doesn’t like O’Rourke.
Phoenix was introduced by a Fox News reporter just before the first round of polls closed as a “very special guest” who “is very in-tune politically” before he gave his hot take on the midterms
The pint-sized reporter from Texas said that O’Rourke is too “far left”, which doesn’t resonate with the entire Hispanic community:
I think Beto thought he would have a big chance with the Hispanic voters, but I think he’s gone very far left, and my mom’s an immigrant from Nicaragua.
I’ve talked to a lot of people in the Hispanic community, and I think some of his values are something he’s running from.
People on Twitter weren’t too impressed.
Others compared Phoenix to a certain political commentator.
But this guy was the real star.
Fox News reporter Carley Shimkus interviewed Phoenix outside of 'Fox Square' in New York, where the network was holding a midterm election viewing party.
After the interview, Shimkus had two words for the kid reporter: “You’re hired.”
Let’s hope she means this literally and we see Phoenix popping up on future election nights.
