We haven’t heard much from Mike Pence since Donald Trump lost the election to Joe Biden in November.
He definitely hasn’t been shouting the president’s baseless conspiracy theories about voter fraud from the roof tops and has, in all fairness been concentrating on more important things like trying to end the pandemic in the United States. However, he has made a few public appearances.
On Thursday he spoke in Georgia at a ‘Defend the Majority’ rally in support of Republican senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in their bids to win their respective run off elections in January.
Surely having the vice president turn up and support your cause would be a huge moment for both senators and although Pence’s speech was fine, unfortunately for him and them, what came before the speech has captured the internet’s imagination.
After departing from Air Force Two, Pence made his way to the stage but rather than walk like anybody would have he decided to run and not just run but he was also clapping at the exact same time. Oh and to make things better (or stranger, depending on the way you look at things) ‘All Right Now’ by Free was also playing.
The Recount, who shared the original video updated the footage and played it side-by-side with a Crystal Light Aerobics clip and lets just say that it was hard to tell the difference between the two.
From there a meme was born and it is quite honestly the most noteworthy thing that Pence has done for months.
Although not many people will miss the Trump administration we will be sad to see Pence go as it will mean an end to awkward moments like this.
