Nato announces 'rapid reaction force' to deal with Ukraine crisis

After meeting in Wales this week, the leaders of Nato have agreed to send a 4,000-strong rapid reaction force to eastern Europe in response to Russia's involvement in Ukraine.

This 'spearhead' force - which will include 1,000 British soldiers and will sit alongside an existing Nato force in the region - could be deployed within two to five days and Nato reassured the countries of eastern Europe that it will be fully operational by the end of the year.

Which will be a huge relief to those countries with Russia's military on its doorstep...
