New figures show 'greenest government ever' is failing to reach targets

Despite David Cameron's 2010 election pledge to be the 'greenest government ever', the Climate Change Committee (CCC) warns that the Government is falling behind its legally-binding emissions reduction target for 2050.

The committee blames most of the shortfall on the Government's failure to set a renewable energy target after 2020, its removal of a subsidised cavity-wall insulation program and the widely criticised Green Deal commercial loan scheme.
