England are in the rugby World Cup final after an outstanding victory over New Zealand, the nation that triumphed at the last two World Cups. One New Zealand newspaper has labelled the defeat nothing less than the “end of the world”.

The people of New Zealand are rightly proud of their rugby team and its incredible World Cup record but the press have been good enough to pay tribute to England in the aftermath of the seismic semi-final.

The New Zealand Herald ran with:

“End of the World! All Blacks stunned by incredible English”.

It’s been a tough few months for New Zealand in clashes with England, July’s Cricket World Cup Final ending with the scores tied and tied again after a super over before England were crowned champions by virtue of having hit more boundaries.
