If there's one thing you can say for Trump's "grab them by the pussy" line, it's that at least it brought people together.
Yes, there were those who still voted for him, because what's a bit of misogyny when it comes to the leader of the free world, right?
But at least most people didn't have the gall to actually defend it.
Enter – Nigel Farage.
During last night's ITV debate, Jo Swinson took a moment to say what we were all thinking.
Nigel, look, you've just tried to defend Donald Trump. You're saying 'these things aren't what he said, when we've all seen the footage of him talking and boasting about sexually assaulting women.
Farage decided this was the most appropriate moment to interrupt Swinson, saying, somewhat bafflingly:
It was crass and it was crude and it was wrong, and men say dreadful things sometimes.
I mean, crass and crude would perhaps be to swear at the Christmas dinner table in front of the kids when your turkey carving goes a bit wrong... bragging about sexual assault seems like a whole other level, but OK.
As for the "men say dreadful things sometimes", we can all agree that he is – for once – right. His old friend Boris Johnson is living proof of this fact.
Regardless, it all gets infinitely more bizarre when he continues to dig deep into that hole.
If all of us were caught out for what we tell on a night out after a drink, none of us would be here.
We can only assume this is a Freudian slip and Farage is thinking of his own behaviour because Trump didn't make the comments after "a night out", he made them on his way to make a guest appearance on a soap opera, while he was being filmed for a behind-the-scenes special.
Farage seems to think that drinking makes "joking" about sexual assault OK. We can't even begin to unpack that one, but it's irrelevant anyway. As we all know, Donald Trump famously doesn't drink.
Tragically, it seems we still need a man to explain to other men why this kind of behaviour is problematic. Luckily, Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price came through.
It can never be acceptable for a man to talk about grabbing a woman's pussy. If you think it is, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Yasss Adam Price! PREACH.
And he didn't stop there...
The sad reality is, is that we have a gay man, like myself as bumboys in tank tops, referred to Muslim women looking like letterboxes. This is creating the climate where abuse become acceptable, whether it be women or minorities and that's why neither Trump nor Johnson are fit to be in public office.
A mic drop fit for a feminist ally of dreams, really.
