Quiz: How much do you actually know about the Human Rights Act?

The Conservative Party has unveiled plans to scrap the Human Rights Act and replace it with a British Bill of Rights, should David Cameron win a majority at the next general election.

Amid a lot of noise about the Act and the relationship between the UK and the European Court of Human Rights, take our quiz to find out how much you really know about the legislation.

10.In 2006 a suspected car thief stayed on a roof for 20 hours during a police stand-off. The police used negotiating tactics (such as giving him KFC food and cigarettes) to encourage him to give himself up.

11.In 2001 it was reported that prisoner Dennis Nilsen tried to claim he was entitled to hardcore pornography under the law, but the court denied him permission to even bring the claim after concluding there was no arguable case that his human rights had been breached.

12.Abu Qatada was flown out of the UK in July 2013 after a treaty between the UK and Jordan sufficiently recognised his right to a fair trial and he dropped his legal case. He has since been cleared of terror offences.
