Radio presenter shuts down 'idiot' who labelled all Muslims 'maggots'

A radio presenter completely shut down a 'xenophobic bigot' who called in to say that all Muslims are 'maggots'.

A man known only as 'Ryan' spoke to Cristo Foufas on LBC to explain why he thinks every person who follows the Islamic faith shouldn't be allowed into Britain. Ryan also had some strong views on the refugee crisis.

In the broadcast Ryan tells Cristo that "every Muslim is a maggot," that they are "parasites," and that they come to the UK "on the scrounge."

Ryan also mentions that refugees who drown trying to reach safety from war-torn countries are "selfish" and added that he doesn't think any Muslim is "compatible" with British society.

"Pack your bags, go back to your own country," meanwhile, is Ryan's statement on Muslims already living here.

Ryan does say that he doesn't mind a Sikh man named Mr Singh, who runs a local corner shop near his home in Sunderland. Ryan says he thinks Jews are okay too.

Cristo lets Ryan continue with his rant for a few minutes before offering a reply.

He first clarifies with Ryan that his "xenophobia and bigotry" is just about Muslims, and after doing so, tells him that his stupidity, generalisations and gross negative stereotypes only underline a "lack of education."

Cristo tells Ryan that he should spend "less time being xenophobic and more time reading newspapers" – and then he wouldn't come across as a total and utter "fool."

But it's the final exchange that seals the deal. Cristo says:

'Every Muslim is a maggot' – you were careful to point this out.

The Muslim that may have treated you at hospital, the Muslim that may have educated your children, the Muslim that may have sold you something at the corner shop, the Muslim that may have been here and contributed and worked all of their lives in order to make a better life for themselves, and to pay taxes here in the UK – you would call them a maggot?

Ryan responds:

Yeah.

To which Cristo concludes...

You're an idiot.
