Remembering when Michael Gove slipped over spectacularly

Boris Johnson has ruled himself out of running for the leadership of the Conservative Party.

Johnson said in a statement:

I must tell you, my friends, you who have waited faithfully for the punchline of this speech, that having consulted colleagues and in view of the circumstances of Parliament, I have concluded that person cannot be me.

His fellow Leave campaigner Michael Gove announced slightly earlier on Thursday that he was running for the leadership of the party.

Gove now joins Theresa May, Stephen Crabb, Andrea Leadsom and Liam Fox in contesting for the top job in the Tory party.

So now is a great time to remind you of the time he slipped over in Westminster in front of Sky cameras and tried to style it out.

Metaphors.
