Former representative Steve King, who was disgraced and stripped of his House committee assignments this year because of white nationalist rhetoric, got duped on Twitter twice in one evening, causing his name to trend.

In both instances, Twitter users managed to get him to retweet a message before changing their user names in order to taunt him. One of the pranksters called him a white supremacist, while the other one suggested he drinks his own urine, reports the Huffington Post.

In the first instance, King was duped by Ken Klippenstein, of The Young Turks, who asked him to share a message of support for his 'uncle' Col. Nathan Jessup.

In the tweet, he wrote:

He’s in the Marines and spending the 4th overseas keeping our nation safe.

The photograph, however, wasn't of Klippenstein's fictional uncle, it was, in fact, of Jack Nicholson, who played the fictional colonel in the 1992 film 'A Few Good Men'.

Once he'd succeeded in getting King to re-tweet the burn, Klippenstein then changed his name on Twitter to read 'Steve King is a White Supremacist'. King later deleted the tweet.

He shared a screengrab of the dupe, and it goes without saying that people loved it:

This wasn't the only humiliation faced by King on Friday. Later on, he replied to another Twitter user, who also changed their name in an effort to troll the politician.

The tweet still remains on King's timeline as of Saturday:

It goes without saying that other Twitter users soon began asking King to share messages to other fictional characters.

King is a vocal and ardent supporter of Donald Trump, representing the largely Republican Fourth District in northwest Iowa, and he has a history of making racially insensitive statements, especially about Hispanics and immigrants, reports NBC News.

Earlier this year, he was stripped of his committee assignments after he made inflammatory remarks about white nationalism.
