Rihanna is officially a billionaire – making her ‘the wealthiest female musician in the world’

Rihanna is officially a billionaire – and it’s not from performing or music (or, as frustrated fans would argue, lack of).

The global superstar hit a staggering $1.7 billion at the mere age of 33. This not only makes her the richest female musician in the world, but it also means she comes in second to Oprah Winfrey as the wealthiest female entertainer.

Most of RiRi’s wealth is down to her cosmetic empire, Fenty Beauty, launched in September 2017.

With a mission to be inclusive to all, the brand became a billion-dollar phenomenon in less than four years. So much so, the ‘Work’ singer brought in a whopping $1.4 billion – which Forbes now confirms the singer owns 50 per cent. With the arrival of Fenty Skin last year, this is expected to grow significantly.

According to Forbes, her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, accumulated much of the rest of her financial success – $270 million worth. It first hit the market in 2018 and is forecasted to be a market leader by 2025.

The remains of Rihanna’s earnings come from her popular fragrances, acting roles and chart-topping music – after having sold more than 250 million records worldwide.

Rihanna’s Reign is expected to soar further, after she recently announced the arrival of her first Fenty perfume on August 10. She teamed up with LVMH’s perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud to create the upcoming gender-neutral fragrance. “I put Rihanna in the bottle. And that was my goal … it became evident that the perfume had to be, for me, very sensual. When you see her, when you meet her, you are automatically impressed with her,” he said.

People took to Twitter to react to the billion-dollar success.

Rihanna has promised impatient fans a ninth album at some point. For now, they will have to wait and see what the upcoming project with A$AP Rocky brings.
