It's no surprise that this time of year can be very stressful for school children, especially those about to undertake their SATs exams.
According to a 2017 study, more than eight out of ten school leaders say that fear of academic failure has led to an increase in mental health issues among children around exam time.
Earlier this week, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn also vowed that a Labour government would abolish SATs, due to the fact that they're giving children 'nightmares'.
So, this teacher's 'revision' guide for her year six pupils regards their SATs comes as a welcome breath of fresh air.
Mrs Thom, of Buckleberry Primary School, Reading, sent her pupils home with a homework assignment that was geared towards their wellbeing.
In the note, which has now gone viral after it was posted to Twitter, the primary school teacher said:
- Go on a bike/scooter ride.
- Read a book.
- Watch your favourite TV programme
- Smile
- Eat Haribo or ice cream
- Spend time with people you love
- Laugh until your tummy hurts
- Go outside and enjoy the weather
- Go for a swim or a walk
- Spend time on your favourite hobby
- Rest
- See friends
- Run until you just can't anymore
- Cook or make something
- Have more Haribo or ice cream
- Play in your garden
- Do something you have never done before
Not satisfied with that, Mrs Thom also added:
If you feel you have to you may revise, but you can only do this for a maximum of one hour total.
Remember - Mrs Thom is in charge of worrying - you don't need to. You are all amazing and I couldn't be more proud of you
HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKENDÂ
