On Thursday evening a body on a man was found in conjunction with the search for Scott Hutchison, the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit. It was later confirmed to be him.

36-year-old Hutchison had been missing since 1am on Wednesday morning after leaving the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, Scotland.

Frightened Rabbit had put out an appeal via social media for fans to look out for Scott and contact them should they see him.

The group have since put out a statement expressing their sadness for Scott's passing but admitted the fact that he is "no longer suffering brings us some comfort."

Fans of the group have since been paying their tributes to Scott online.

In a tweet shared by Adam Park, it shows an image of a Frightened Rabbit hat accompanied by a message from Scott addressed to a fan who had been going through a difficult time.

Scott's message reads:

Hey Justin

I hope you don't (sic) me sending this note.

You're kind parents got in touch recently to tell me you had been having a difficult time and that Frightened Rabbit had helped you to pull through.

All I really wanted to say is that no matter how dark life seems, you are never alone.

There is always hope.

Hope the hat warms the Ohio winter!

Scott
