The cartoon that sums up a truly incredible week in US history

This was a week in American history when a racially motivated mass shooting led to southern states re-examining the use of the Confederate battle flag.

Then on Friday the country's supreme court effectively legalised gay marriage in all 50 states.

The human rights organisation the Southern Poverty Law Centre summed it up in one cartoon:

We can't put it any better.
