The countries that are most concerned about Islamic extremism

Lebanon, France and Spain are the countries most concerned about Islamic extremism, a survey of 21,235 people in 21 countries has revealed.

The Pew Research Centre found that worldwide, concern was growing. In the UK, the proportion of people who are very concerned about Islamic extremism has risen 21 points to 52 per cent since 2011.

Concern about Islamic extremism has also increased 38 percentage points in France, 29 per cent in Spain, 20 per cent in Germany and 17 per cent in the United States.
