The cost of damage from unprecedented levels of rainfall brought by Storm Desmond has been put as high as £500milllion.
While staggering, the figure, from PwC UK, is dwarfed by the damage caused by the below storms, as compiled by Statista from insurer Munich Re.
Kyrill, which struck Europe in 2007, is Europe's costliest storm.
