University magazine unwittingly offers honest assessment of modern day America

A university magazine has unintentionally provided a snapshot of modern day America: the secret to success is being a white man.

The cover provoked ridicule for depicting two white men in suits triumphantly finishing a race ahead of a woman in third place and a black man further behind under the title "SUCCESS. Why Follow When You Can Lead!".

While the obvious metaphor for inequality was unintended, the University of North Georgia has withdrawn the magazine after it was picked up by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"After looking into the issue, we determined that this is an isolated case of poor judgment, and was not intentional," a spokesman told AJC.

However, as New York Magazine points out, because it's a stock image, there are other companies using it across the web. A Google Images search shows several recruitment companies and businesses have the image on their websites.
