Lithuania is perceived to be the country with the most widespread government corruption, according to an international survey involving almost 40 countries.
US pollster Gallup conducted phone interviews in countries with a free press, as indicated by Freedom House's press freedom rankings, asking respondents whether they believed corruption was widespread in the government of their country.
As this chart from Statista shows, 90 per cent of people in Lithuania said 'yes' to this question.
The UK comes out of the research fairly well, at 46 per cent (and much better than the US at 75 per cent), but way behind countries such as Sweden, which achieved the best rating of just 14 per cent.
