These are the countries with the most UN world heritage sites

Iran is hoping to attract more UK tourists, having sent its largest ever delegation to the World Travel Market, which is being held at London’s ExCeL centre this year.

The country hopes to convince tour operators and travel agents to take holidaymakers to the country, boasting its 19 Unesco world heritage sites and ski resorts.

It appears they have some work to do, however; in a WTM poll of 1,036 British adults, only 16 per cent said they were interested in visiting the country in the future.

Italy is the country with the most Unesco heritage sites in the world with 51, the top 20 of which are as follows:
