Thief throws brick against car window, knocks himself out

This wannabe car thief has been described as "Ireland's dumbest criminal" after he threw a brick at a car window, it bounced straight back into his face and knocked him out cold.

The man, from Drogheda, 35 miles north of Dublin, was found lying in a pool of his own blood by Gerry Brady - the car's owner and landlord of the nearby Pheasant pub.

"He pulled himself up and said he wanted €50 for a taxi. I said 'Not a chance, I’ve to pay for a new window mate', that’s when he leaned in and told me he'd burn me out of the pub,” Brady told the Irish Independent.

The police then turned up and arrested the man who repeatedly told them that Brady had assaulted him. At the station they showed him CCTV footage of him knocking himself out with the brick...

An investigation is ongoing.
