This is probably not the endorsement Ukip was looking for…

Yes that’s right, Nick Griffin, the former leader of the far, far-right British National Party, has said he is planning on voting for Ukip at the next general election.

He made the, um, 'endorsement', public in a series of tweets:

Griffin, who lost his seat as an MEP in May, was forced out as BNP leader this summer, and kicked out of the party altogether in October.

Nigel Farage said earlier this year that he was “quite proud” of taking votes from the BNP, whose decline to political irrelevance has coincided with Ukip’s rise.

Also, for some reason, Nick Griffin seems to be back in Syria again.
