Trump Jr wrote a book about free speech then refused to answer any questions about it

Donald Trump Jr has a book out. It is called 'Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us' and is primarily about how the left is unwilling to debate important issues of the day.

Now you can dislike Trump Jr as much as you like but we all know that he is not afraid to speak his mind and call things out, whether he is right or wrong.

Or is he?

You see for a person who isn't happy about people debating contentious subjects in 2019, he is doing a pretty good job of avoiding any questions about his own book.

Take for instance his recent appearance at an event for his book, which was hosted by the conservative student group Turning Point, at the University of California.

Trump Jr was on stage with his girlfriend, the former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle and Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk.

As you can imagine, a lot of Trump supporters had shown up to hear the couple talk and ask them questions. There was also a counter-protest against Trump Jr's presence both inside and outside of the venue.

However, just 20 minutes into the event the atmosphere in the room had turned sour as the couple was refusing to take questions from the audience.

According to reports they blamed things such as time restraints and concerns over footage being skewered on social media and used against Trump Jr's father.

Trump Jr reportedly told the crowd he was "willing to listen" and was met with cries of "Q and A! Q and A!"

Trump Jr responded by saying:

We'll go into the lion's den and talk …

This didn't go down well as the crowd erupted into more cries for a Q and A as well as boos.

A noticeable angered Guilfoyle then stood up and began to shout at those in attendance, saying:

You are not making your parents proud by being rude and disruptive and discourteous.

We are happy to answer a question. Respect the people around you so that they can hear.

She then appears to focus on one person and, to the delight of the audience, said:

You don't play by the same rules. Let me tell you something I bet you engage and go online dating because you are impressing no one here to get a date in person.

Yet, after just 20 minutes the pair had left the stage and didn't return.

The university's student newspaper, The Daily Bruin, reported that the event 'contradicted' itself as Trump Jr was happy not to answer questions but was more than happy to berate others for not debating him, with some students claiming that Trump Jr was scared of being 'triggered' himself.

The president oldest son is yet to comment directly about the event but did seem to subtly criticise it in a Twitter post about a later event held at the Reagan Library.
