Trump's senior legal adviser is one of his biggest cheerleaders now.

But it hasn't always been that way.

Despite championing Trump's false voter fraud claims and often acting as a reliable media surrogate, Jenna Ellis was once seriously critical of the president.

According to CNN's new KFile report, she trashed Trump on numerous occasions.

In one Facebook post, she said that his values were "not American" and even called him a "fascist".

In another post, she referred to him as an "unethical, corrupt, lying, criminal dirtbag".

Then, in another astonishing post, she referred to "ridiculously illogical, inconsistent, and blatantly stupid arguments supporting Trump."

She didn't hold back in criticising his followers either.

Ellis once wrote:

His supporters DON’T CARE about facts or logic. They aren’t seeking truth. Trump probably could shoot someone in the middle of NYC and not lose support.

As if that wasn't enough, in various interviews and Facebook posts from around 2016, she called him "abusive" and "unholy".

She also said that he "absolutely should not be the GOP nominee" when he was running.

Strong words from somebody who is now leading his legal efforts to try and overturn the results of the 2020 election.

When approached by CNN about these comments, Ellis explained that it was "no secret" that she hadn't supported Trump back then.

She then spoke about how she was "glad" to have learned that she was "completely wrong" about him.

Ellis added: "President Trump is a sincere Christian, the best president in modern history, and made and kept his promises to the American people".

Of course, people can change their minds. But seems like an extreme turnaround even for 2020.
