It's happened - Donald Trump has officially sent out his stupidest ever tweet. He has, for the first time, appeared to admit that Russia aided his election during a rant aimed at Mueller.
On Tuesday morning, the president of the United States tweeted:
Russia, Russia, Russia! That’s all you heard at the beginning of this Witch Hunt Hoax...And now Russia has disappeared because I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected. It was a crime that didn’t exist. So now the Dems and their partner, the Fake News Media,.....
Then, he followed it up, saying:
....say he fought back against this phony crime that didn’t exist, this horrendous false accusation, and he shouldn’t fight back, he should just sit back and take it. Could this be Obstruction? No, Mueller didn’t find Obstruction either. Presidential Harassment!
Wait a second, hasn't he just said that 'I had nothing to do with Russia helping me get elected'...?
Well, that's an interesting turn of phrase.
The tweets come the morning after Mueller, speaking publicly for the first time in two years, appeared to directly hint at the prospect of Donald Trump getting impeached. In a statement, Mr Mueller reiterated his conclusions from his 448-page report into Russian election interference.
In a statement, he said:
If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.
We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime.
It goes without saying that eagle-eyed Twitter users were quick to pick up on the tweet.
Was that... an admission?
He even corrected the spelling, but then left that bit untouched.
Does this tweet... remind you of anything?
Cue the Simpsons memes!
Could he... impeach... himself!?
We want our old president back.
What was that you said, mate?
Canadians also gave their two pennies worth.
All cue the world's best ever emoji...
We all love a good coffee sip...
