It appears that for some politicos in Washington DC during the Trump era, getting a haircut at the barbershop was a bigger concern than stemming the tide of Covid-19.

Hairdressers, barbers, and other nonessential businesses were forced to lockdown due to coronavirus infections increasing worldwide for many months last year.

But aides to former President Donald Trump were reported to have secretly received haircuts by two women who essentially worked in a 'black market barber shop.' The shop was inside a bathroom next to the White House in the initial stages of Covid-19.

Aides could even book appointments for cuts at the scissor speakeasy.

According to the New York Post, the Asian-American haircutters who were brought on to perform the services set up shop in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door.

For the whole salon and chill experience, one of the women would reportedly cut the aides' hair while the other handled snacks and taking payments, which came to around $70 with tip.

Presumably it was seen as a bargain by aides who presided over the chaotic response to a global pandemic.

The Post also said that Asian American hairdressers were recommended by the wife of a congressman.

The barbershop was also popular, but it’s unclear if any women stopped by for a cut.

'I'm sure they would have agreed to style women, though it was definitely targeted to the male staffers,' one of the former White House officials told the Post. "I can't say for sure if any women ever went."

Due to the barbershop's overall popularity, the White House ended up hiring a permanent, in-house haircutter.

Wall's Barber Shop, which was the White House staffers' favorite shop before it was forced to shut down with the Covid-19 restrictions, signed an agreement with the White House after restrictions were loosened.

Aides to Trump would pay $25 for a shape up, $15 for a beard trim, and $45 for a haircut.

The Biden White House has apparently kept the in-house arrangement with Wall's Barber Shop for everyone's haircutting needs while following the pandemic guidelines.
