In a world that constantly feels like it's imploding, it’s refreshing to escape into the endless joy of trivia.

Thankfully, for all you nerds out there, writer Nicole Cliffe took to Twitter to ask people people for their favourite weird facts. In typical fashion, Twitter came up with the goods.

From the animal kingdom and the Nazis, to Native America and NASA, no subject was too weird to be included.

According to a recent study, cats only started becoming close to humans 8,000 years ago when they started trying to steal food. Who knew?!

After the animal kingdom, there were word facts.

Then medical facts.

And, of course, facts from pop culture.
