Well, this is awkward.

According to Fox News Rhode Island lawmaker Ramon Perez was left a little red in the face after handing out a document that contained references to pornography.

The mistake came about after Perez took a screen shot of a Wikipedia article.

During the screenshot, he had tabs open which clearly indicated that he was watching something he shouldn't have been.

The document was due to be part of his testimony in favour of a bill to the House Finance Committee.

Thankfully there were no images on show. Regardless, still a little unprofessional.

The documents were sent to members of the committee but were quickly retrieved after Perez's 'mistake' was discovered.

Perez said that a 'friend' had researched the information and had provided him with the document.

Lesson learned: Always consider the tabs.
