When you read a book, you're being asked by the author to suspend your disbelief and subscribe to the world they're trying to sell to you.

However, a problem with most men writers is that they seem to consistently writing blatant inaccuracies when it comes to their female characters.

Seeing as how women make up half the population, you'd think that these writers might want to get their characterisations right. Sometimes, male authors describe women in the weirdest ways, creating and perpetuating this totally unrealistic image that can not only damage women, but unfortunately appeal to men.

Suffice it to say, women seem to have had enough and have come together on Tumblr to compile an open letter to men writers.

It covers a range of topics from the reality of periods and tampons to being able to run in high heels.
