Alex Todd, of Chebeague Island, Maine, caught a rare white lobster on 24 August.
The catch was shared to the Facebook page for the Maine Coast Fisherman's Association.
Â
The catch was covered by news outlets, because of the brilliant colour of the lobster:
Â
Todd, a 10th generation Main fisherman, who's had his lunch since the age of six, told ABC News:
I’ve never seen a white one. This one was translucent with just a hint of blue in it.
He saw it was female and carrying eggs, and threw it back, as is required by Maine law of female catches.
Â
