Trump pushes Jan 6 conspiracies and claims that “states from 2020 election are going to be turned”

Donald Trump may have cancelled his January 6 press event, but that hasn’t stopped him from running his mouth on TV about election conspiracies and claimed that “numerous states from 2020 election are going to be turned.”

The former president sat down with Christina Bobb from the conservative One America News Network (OAN) in a one-on-one interview on January 4,th and like a broken record said he believes “the elections are rigged and the borders are broken,” as reported by Media Matters.

“I used to talk about the broken borders, but I never talked about the elections because I never thought the elections could be rigged,” he said.

So, Trump never talked the elections were rigged until right around the time he lost - what a coincidence...

Later on, the 75-year-old went into full-on conspiracy mode and claimed: “Things are coming out in the next couple of days.”

“I hear a very big story is coming out today on the cheating and numerous states are going to be turned - I don’t know what they’re going to do but it’s gonna show that they were won by me. It’s already shown.”

“If you look at Arizona, the finding in Arizona that’s over - we won it and I’m going out there next week, I’m making a speech but if you look at those findings we won the state. Now it’s up to the Attorney General to see if he is going to do something.”

This claim by Trump has been refuted by a 93-page report by the Maricopa County Elections Department which identified misleading or false claims in the partisan audit of Trump’s “loss” Reuters reported.

It showed that 22 claims that were misleading, 41 that included flawed or misstated analysis and 13 that were demonstrably false and found no evidence of double voting.

“We determined that nearly every finding included faulty analysis, inaccurate claims, misleading conclusions and a lack of understanding of federal and state election laws,” the report said.

Meanwhile, Trump also praised Bobb and OAN for their coverage of the “rigged” election, and told the host: “You cover this better than anybody, and you know what you do and what OAN does is so important.”

It should be noted that Bobb assisted in the campaign to get the 2020 election result overturned and was one of six people present at Trump’s “war room” at the Willard Hotel as they tried to prevent Biden’s win from being certified - the same day of the Capitol riots, The Washington Post reported.

Now that we’ve mentioned the Capitol riots, which happened exactly a year ago today, Trump spoke about the attack and claimed his supporters were in Washington D.C. because “the election got rigged and stolen from the American people” and came to listen to his speech.

According to Trump “there was love that day,” and just a “tiny percentage” of those who attended his speech before things kicked off, were a part of the riots.

Well, looking at the footage from the fateful day along with some of the most infamous faces from the Capitol riots, it seems that many of them were Trump supporters.

On January 4th, Trump cancelled his press event scheduled on the first anniversary of the insurrection on January 6 and in a statement shared by his spokesperson Liz Harington, accused the select committee investigating the riots and the media of committing “the Crime of the Century”
