The inventors of Jerry the Bear - a stuffed toy for children with diabetes
Nominet Trust, a social technology funder, has released its list of 100 innovations that have made the world a better place in 2014.
Among the list are 20 British inventions, including Teddy the Guardian - a diagnostic teddy bear that gives readings of heart rate, oxygen saturation, body temperature and stress levels - and the Gravity Light - a weight which takes only three seconds to lift and provides 25 minutes of light as it descends.
Organisations from across the world, in some of the most developed technology markets and ones that are newly emerging, sit side by side.
Those listed include Google’s self-driving car; eCompliance, a revolutionary use of fingertip-readers to record tuberculosis treatment in India; and HarassMap, an anonymous crowd-mapping platform that combats sexual harassment in Egypt.
