If you’ve ever found yourself wondering how much Facebook employees get paid, you’re in luck: a list of the social platform’s various roles and salaries has been compiled using thousands of publicly available visa applications.
Mark Zuckerberg has the lowest salary of all, according to the analysis by Business Insider — $1 a year — though he’s worth the most of anyone there, with a net worth of approximately $134 billion.
While Zuckerberg’s colleagues might not fall into the billionaire category, they still earn quite substantial stipends. According to Insider, an in-house ad agency director makes just over $330,000 a year, while an engineering director earns $360,000 yearly.

As for other employees, it obviously depends on the role — but on location, too. For example: Insider found that a data analyst in California makes $130,000 to $150,000 a year, while one in Texas makes $128,000 and another $111,000. Similarly, a software engineer earns $160,000 while engineers in Rhode Island and Texas make $180,000. It can be surmised that cost of living is accounted for in salaries, seeing as California and New York’s real estate is significantly more expensive than most other states.
Pulling from thousands of work-visa applications, Insider assembled the massive list of approximate salaries of various roles at Facebook, which, of course, has its limitations: The findings only account for jobs which are eligible for international candidates, and is primarily made up of data scientists and software engineers, while few executives made the cut. That said, it still provides unique insight into the social media giant’s internal finances.
