Britney Spears / Twitter
Britney Spears is the princess of pop, but she’s also the queen of social media.
There was that time when, instead of singing ‘Imagine’ from her mansion, she used her platform to tell her fans to DM her if they need money. Then there was her ludicrously iconic world-record 100m run (which she later said was a “joke”, but we’re not so sure…)
Now Spears has taken some time out from being Miss American Dream Since She Was 17 to post a heartfelt message to her LGBTQ+ fans for Pride month.
She said:
To all my friends at the LGBTQ community, happy Pride Month. You guys bring so much heart, passion and articulate everything you do.’
Because of you, I’ve had the best nights of my life. I love you so much it hurts. Happy Pride Month.
At this point, the message is interrupted by a noise, presumably Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari. She responded by saying “Baby, be quiet!” and pulling an outraged face.
The chaotic energy of the video is peak Britney. She’s known for posting… “unorthodox” videos on social media. And fans people loved this one.
One of Spears’ final performances before she took a break from touring was a showstopping set at Brighton Pride. Hopefully, when the world goes back to normal, she’ll be headlining Pride celebrations again soon.
It's Pride Month, b*tch!
