A Friend’s reunion is in the works and fans can't contain their excitement

After years of speculation and a group selfie which almost broke Instagram, it looks like a Friends reunion might actually be on the cards.

Sources suggest that talks are underway for a Friends reunion special on the upcoming streaming platform HBO Max

Jennifer Aniston recently mentioned the project while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She said that there will not be a "Friends" reboot, but let slip that some sort of project is in the works.

I would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is.

So we're just trying. We're working on something.

Friends reruns will be moving from Netflix to HBO Max, after the new streaming service bought the rights to the show for $425 million.

It’s clear that there’s an appetite for a reunion. Aniston’s selfie with her five costars – her first post on Instagram – set the world record for the fastest account to hit one million followers.

On social media, people were thrilled at the prospect of a reunion.
