You can now get paid to watch every episode of The Simpsons and spot its future predictions

Imagine, just for a moment, you could get paid to sit around all day and watch your favourite television. Well, if you are a fan of The Simpsons that dream has just become a reality.

An online casino is looking to pay someone £5000 to watch every single episode of The Simpsons and the spin-off movie, to try and help the casino predict the future, a talent the long-running animated show has, for better or worse, developed a knack for. Sounds like one of Mr Burns’s schemes but we’re all ears.

In the job application, Platin Casino writes: “It’s a well-known phenomenon that The Simpsons has predicted major life events, and in our industry, we too like to predict what the future has in store for us. So, after a hard couple of years, we at PlatinCasino.co.uk are intrigued to see what 2022 will hold...

“Ahead of the new year, we thought we’d put The Simpsons to the test and see if, after analysing every single episode, it can help us to predict the future. As part of our mission to do this, we’re happy to announce that we’re looking for our first, official, Simpsons Series Analyst!

“Hired to watch all episodes of the popular American sitcom, The Simpsons Series Analyst will get paid to note down standout events from the show, to help us predict the probability of each one happening.

“Now if you haven’t already heard of The Simpsons predicting the future, this theory has circulated globally after some of the show’s storylines have come true years after airing. Events occurring in past series that have become reality include Donald Trump’s presidency, the 2013 horse meat scandal, the coronavirus pandemic, and more recently, the fuel shortage across Britain.”

Now it is worth bearing in mind that, as it stands, there are more than 700 episodes of The Simpsons which equates to more than 280+ hours of the show to sit through. To save doing it all in one go the lucky applicant you have to watch just 35-and-a-half-hours a week of the Simpsons over the eight weeks that the job lasts for, to fit it all in, which is still a lot but possibly more digestible.

This works out roughly at £17 an hour and £6.80 per episode, which, once again, is better than getting paid nothing to watch it, even if the later seasons don’t quite have the same level of quality as the early episodes. The analyst will also receive £75-a-week for expenses, as well as weekly doughnut delivery, which is as good an incentive to apply as the money.

All the lucky applicant will have to do is take notes on each episode from the standout storylines and report them back to the casino’s prediction team who will then compile the events into a list of future predictions and gives odds on how likely they are to happen.

The only requirements for the applicant are that they have to be over the age of 18, are fluent in English, have internet access as well as access to a TV or laptop and possess strong writing skills.

The job description also says that having a love for The Simpsons isn’t essential, but it’s probably for the best if you are going to spend 35 hours a week watching it.

So if you know your Lenny from your Carl and your Duffman from your Radioactive Man, or not, then apply right here.
